What will the Impact Alliance do?
The role of the Impact Alliance is to protect and promote the value of Impact Incentives, drive their use, and collect and report on the collective outcomes of all of their activity. The Alliance sets the core principles behind Impact Incentives and Impact Partnerships, and sets the rules for the registration and sale of Incentives.
How does the Impact Alliance work with the Incentive Trading Platform?
The Incentive Trading Platform (ITP) is an IT Platform that manages the registrations and transfers of Impact Incentives. ChainPoint and ACT Commodities are partnering to develop and run the platform.
Members
Textile Exchange is a global non-profit that works closely with our members to drive industry transformation in preferred fiber, integrity and standards and responsible supply networks. We identify and share best practices regarding farming, materials, processing, traceability and product end-of-life in order to reduce the textile industry’s impact on the world’s water, soil and air, and the human population. We are using Impact Incentives as part of our Leather Impact Accelerator work and our work with organic cotton right now, and are looking at the potential to use Incentives with other input materials.
Global Food Partners (GFP) is a multinational consulting firm that works with food and hospitality businesses to develop, implement and report high animal welfare and responsible sourcing policies.
GFP provides on-farm support for egg farmers to transition to higher welfare production systems that meet animal welfare certification and standards, with a focus on sustainable, economically-viable cage-free egg production.

Impact Areas
Impact Incentives set minimum expectations for various issues relating to sustainability. The term “Impact Incentive” can only be used when these expectations are verified as being met. Additional issues will be added over time.
Animal Welfare
Impact Incentives are used to support producers that are verified to standards that meet or exceed a baseline of animal welfare that aligns with the OIE guidelines. Many producers will comply with standards that go beyond this, and the individual Impact Alliance members may give recognition to higher thresholds.
Deforestation & Conversion-Free
Impact Incentives and Impact Partnership Incentives can be used to support farms that are verified to meet the Accountability Framework definitions of Zero Gross Deforestation and Conversion.
Because the Impact Alliance represents multiple sectors, we have the opportunity to amplify impacts in high-risk landscapes. For example, incentives can be sold for soy, beef and cattle in the Amazon Biome.
